Hi
there everyone, hope you all enjoyed your cage diving excursion with marine
dynamics. Below is a list of water conditions and stats about the sharks sighted
on your trip, along with the best photos of the day.

Current direction: SE
Wind speed: 15kts

Note: Very successful day in all, incredibly lucky to see so many sharks.. often
multiple sharks in front of the cage at once. The first shark to arrive was a
re-sight from the geldsteen with a streamer tag and distinctive black marks by
the gills. Most sharks were identified as females, shark 8 was very small with a
pectoral fin missing and a half its dorsal fin cut off! In all sharks were very
active and visibility allowed all divers to enjoy the cage more than once, many
thanks to all, regards.

were very fortunate to encounter 6 very active
sharks around our boat. The first shark to
arrive around the boat was distinctive with
black scar marks around the gills, she passed a
few times and gave way to a larger heavily
scarred individual. All divers got great
viewings from the cage despite the rough
weather. One particular highlight was shark 5
breeching on the bait line numerous times. Hope
you all enjoyed, many thanks to all, regards.

Hi there everyone, hope you all
enjoyed your cage diving excursion with marine dynamics.
Below is a list of water conditions and stats about the
sharks sighted on your trip, along with the best photos
of the day.
Date: 06-09-07
Location: Joubert's Dam
Sea condition: choppy with large
swell
Water Temperature: 15 C
Wind direction: NW
Current direction: SE
Wind speed: 5kts
Water visibility: 4m
Cloud coverage: 30-40%
Water depth: 11m
Bait Type: Patagonian Toothfish,
sardine and oil
Arrival time: 11:20am
No of sharks sighted: 3
Respective individual lengths:
2.5, 3 & 1.5m
Note: Definitely another day of
patience paying off! After waiting for a long time with
no sharks spotted we were lucky enough to have 3 in
quick succession. The first was a 2.5m female with a
scar down its back and left side. After making a couple
of attempts at the bait the
shark moved on only to be replaced by an even larger 3m
shark. This was also a female and in pristine shape with
no scars visible. The shark made a few passes of the
bait and decoy before moving on however it wasn't long
until our third shark (we nicknamed Nemo due to its
cut-off left pectoral fin) made an appearance. This
lively 1.5m juvenile female circled the boat and made
attempt after attempt to grab the bait expertly handled
by our skipper Antoney. Many thanks to all, you were a
great group and we hope you enjoyed the sharks! regards,
Alison & Oliver.

Date: 07-09-07
Location: Joubert's Dam
Sea condition: calm
Water Temperature: 14.3 C

Current direction: W
Wind speed: 5kts
Water visibility: 3m

Arrival time: 08:30am
No of sharks sighted: 6
Respective individual lengths:
1.5m, 3m, 3.3m, 2m, 2.5-3m, 3m
A great day to see the sharks, we
arrived nice and early and had are first shark within
half an hour or so, a great response time considering
the 2 hour wait we had the day before. Our first shark
was a 1.5m female known as Nemo due to a large section
of her pectoral fin missing. A lively shark, she stayed
around the boat until a much larger 3m female arrived.
We were lucky enough to see several vertical approaches
as she tried to take the bait. Alison got some great
shots of her dorsal fin which we will keep in our
records in order to recognise her in future. The next
shark we saw was a 3.3m shark known as Spike, she has
been spotted here several times over the last couple of
years. We also had a 2m pale female but the next shark
to stay around for a while was our 5th shark. This 2.5 -
3m shark could be identified by a streamer tag and dark,
healed scaring in front of her gills on the left-hand
side. she made several attempts at the bait giving
everyone some great photo opportunities as well as the
divers an up close and personal sights of a great white
taking the bait. Finally Nemo returned and circled until
we left. I hope everyone enjoyed the trip today and have
some great memories and photos to take home with
them. Regards, Alison & Oliver.

Another successful day on
Shark Fever with our first shark appearing in just
15 minuets. This 2.5-3m shark had already been
around the boat earlier in the day on our first
trip. We can identify her by her dorsal fin and dark
scars around the gill area, this shark also carries
a streamer tag. The shark was very active staying
around the boat the entire time we were out making
several spectacular attempts at the bait breaching
twice in a row at one point. We also saw several
sharks around the 2 - 3m all of which were
interested in our bait and gave us some fantastic
views of their attempts to catch it. Finally we saw
a shark thats become well known in the area over the
last few days, a 3.5m female with a huge bite in its
side. These wounds were fresh only a couple of days
ago but have already healed quite well. Not to be
out done our first shark returned right at the end
of our trip to make a final attempt at our bait.
Hope you all had a fantastic time today maybe we'll
see you again in the future!
Regards, Alison & Oliver.

It was an early start on a dull
day as Shark fever set out for Joubert's Dam but it
wasn't long till the boat was being circled by some
beautiful sharks providing great viewing crew and guests
alike. Our first shark a 2.5-3m female has been spotted
before and has a distinctive split at the top of its
caudal (tail) fin, she circled the boat and gave us
several great photo opportunities as she tried to catch
the bait. Our next shark was also one familiar to the
crew. A big 3.5m female with a bite from an even bigger
shark bite on her right side which has lead us to naming
her scratch. The bite could possibly be a mating scar
and was fresh only a few days ago. Our next shark also
showed signs of a bite from another shark, this time
further down the body just before the caudal fin. This
could also be a mating scar or from a territorial
confrontation. Our final shark was a very active one.
Making several vertical approaches at the bait we were
lucky enough to have some great breaches - a fantastic
manoeuvre in which the shark breaks the surface of the
water, sometimes lifting its entire body clear. I hope
you all had a great time and enjoyed the sharks!
